Track Rules

Spirit Peaks Raceway requires each car that goes on track to be thoroughly inspected each event attended and will receive a unique tech sticker to be displayed on the windshield for that event. At the staff's discretion, any unsafe car and/or driver may be removed from the event at any time without refund.

  • Vehicle may not exceed 4,000 lbs
  • Vehicles cannot be higher than 8 inches off the ground from the lowest part of the frame
  • Vehicles must be RWD/converted to RWD
  • Any loose items on the outside of the car (decorations/props) are not allowed
  • Brake lights are required
  • All lug nuts are required
  • Windshield is required
  • Doors are required
  • No major leaking fluids
  • Helmets must have a minimum DOT safety rating
  • Open face helmets are allowed; plastic J-style construction or bicycle helmets are not allowed
  • Your vehicle's battery must be firmly mounted in the stock location with factory mounting hardware, or remotely with a mounting plate and 1" wide top strap bolted firmly to the relocated position
  • Battery boxes are also acceptable as long as they are properly mounted
  • Trailer straps, bungee cords, belts, plastic, and zip ties will not pass tech
  • A minimum 2.5 pound ABC rated fire extinguisher is required to be within reach of the driver while strapped in
  • You are responsible for your vehicle
  • Steering wheel and pedals must be firm and free of excessive play
  • Floor mats should be removed from the vehicle to ensure there is no pedal interference
  • Factory seat belts must be in working order
  • Harnesses must be attached to a proper harness bar or roll cage
  • Harnesses bolted to the floor or strut tower will not pass tech
  • Seats must be rigidly attached to the floor of the vehicle
  • Convertibles are required to have a 4-point roll bar at minimum
  • All vehicles must have a tow point front and rear
  • Tow point must be rigid to the car; no straps with zip ties or knots
  • Tow hooks must be accessible without removing bumpers
  • Tow points must be strong enough to lift your car off two wheels
  • All vehicles must have a full exhaust to at least the rear axle
  • All naturally aspirated cars require a muffler; turbo cars are exempt
  • If we talk to you about how loud your car is, you are required to install a second muffler before the next event attended
  • A catalytic converter does not count as a muffling device
  • Staff reserves the right to remove any car from the track if they are too loud for any reason they deem appropriate
  • Coolant is allowed on track
  • Stop at the starting line and show your wristband to the flagger
  • Wait for the flagger's signal — if you'd like space or have a train, let them know
  • Do not go until the flagger signals — there is no ignoring the flagger; what they say goes
  • When the 3-lap limit is in effect, it is to help with track flow and is firmly enforced
  • The skidpad is one car at a time; if occupied, wait your turn — the limit is five minutes
  • Short course is run one at a time (single or group) unless managed by a track official
  • If you spin out on the main course, stop and wait for those behind you to pass — do not try to get your spot back; it's not a race
  • Stay in your car at all times unless there is a fire; wait for staff to respond
  • The vehicle in front of you has the right of way — if you don't like how they are driving, pull off or hang back

If someone breaks these rules, please alert staff. We run better when everyone follows the rules and plays nice.

  • Drifting or speeding in the pits is a bannable offense
  • Burnouts are not allowed on the property
  • Property speed limit (not on track) is 10 MPH
  • Watch for pedestrians
  • Impaired driving of any kind is illegal and forbidden
  • Dogs must be on a leash at all times — no exceptions
  • Kids must be under adult supervision at all times — no exceptions
  • If you bring dogs or kids, you are responsible for them — pick up after them and dispose of any waste
  • Wristbands must be worn at all times
  • All transactions are non-refundable after 11 AM
  • All drivers must be at least 16 with a driver's license — if 16–17, need parent/guardian signature at the gate
  • Passengers must be 16+ to ride along — under 18 need parent/guardian signature at the gate
